Received this e-mail today from MoveOn.org about a scheduled appearance by Senators Mark Begich (D. AK) & Tom Harkin (D. IA) this Saturday on "The Ed Show" regarding Social Security:
It's not every day that we get to fight for something when it comes to Social Security benefits. But thanks to Senators Tom Harkin and Mark Begich, and our friends at Social Security Works, Democracy for America, and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, we finally have that opportunity.
Sens. Harkin and Begich have introduced bills in the U.S. Senate that would increase Social Security benefits for generations to come while ensuring that the increased benefits could be paid for by making millionaires and billionaires finally pay their fair share of Social Security taxes.
Sens. Harkin and Begich will be on The Ed Show on MSNBC this Saturday at 5 p.m. ET to discuss their plan to enhance Social Security. We can embolden these Social Security champions by making sure millions of progressives tune in to learn about the proposals. That'll also make it clear to other senators that when they step up to strengthen Social Security, we'll have their backs.
Will you tune in and watch? We've set up a special system to send you a text message on Saturday to remind you when Sens. Harkin and Begich are about to go on the air. Would you like us to send you a reminder?
Yes, please send me a reminder:
