THIS DIARY.
Kossack tonyahky is in desperate need of major surgery. She can get it, but her recovery will be at least six weeks. During that period, there will be no one else to serve as a personal aide to her profoundly disabled daughter. There is no state aid available, and local churches and charities turned her away. You can read all the background information and details here.
We are substantially more than halfway to our overall goal - we only need to raise a little over $1,200. Sara R has posted a very stark and affecting diary about the very real dangers facing Tonya and her family because of Tonya's medical condition and her daughter's disability. Even if you can't donate, or have already given, please rec her diary to get more eyes on it. Please also share with your networks, both in on social media and in real life. You never know who will be moved to give, or who will have just the right combination of resources to meet her needs.
My personal thanks to all who have already done so, and who have already helped in other ways.
Chi miigwech.
