Because I must have masochistic political tendencies, I read Hot Air on a regular basis, and because I like to laugh, I read cartoons (well, OK, I read the The Comics Curmudgeon for snark with my cartoons).
At the intersection of both is Day by Day, a webcartoon by Chris Muir, where people of all races, creeds, and nationalities speak as ciphers for his brand of dead-end politics. Need a woman to say something a man wants to say? Look no further than the pen and brushstroke of Chris Muir.
And today, he has a sad. Why? Because to quote Stan Smith of "American Dad!", he's lamenting that he only has "most of the power, instead of all the power."
And that power is indeed white, in case you're asking.
So yeah, the daily link on the front page of Hot Air is to the Day by Day Cartoon, where a long diatribe by Chris Muir where he laments that this isn't the late 19th Century anymore and he's not getting all the accolades he deserves because he's a "White, Heterosexual, Anglo-Saxon, Western Male" (actual words in their actual order from the comic).
At the end, he borrows (with much amusement on his part, I imagine) John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Woman Is the N****r of World", because... Well, you'd have to ask Mr. Muir about that. Apparently his life is so trodden and beaten upon, he lives with the prejudice and bigotry that defines the daily life of a cis white male. I guess the only thing keeping him from placing his firearm in his mouth and ending his torment is his likely belief in Christian Hell (TM).
Surely, you feel his pain.

This isn't so much a column about Chris Muir (who let's face it, seems like a fucking sad sack), but about Ed Morrissey and Allahpundit. This isn't the first time Chris Muir has encouraged his fellow white guys to rise up, take the red pill, take no lip from women and other lesser, and be the regression they want to be in this world (good money he sees himself as a "nice guy")... but this represents that casual bleed through of "Stormfront" to the standard conservative media spin.
Ed Morrissey has gone on record defending Chris Muir before, not necessarily for his words and ideas but the sacrosanct right to express bullshit, because the 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of speech AND a guarantee of promotion (which I wasn't aware of, but hey, these are conservative "feelings", so they must be true. There comes a certain point when you have to say "No, we're done. You can still publish, but we're not going to link to it", especially when this particular trial balloon keeps getting floated.
If people like Chris Muir want to publish - I'm sure Stormfront or the White Aryan Resistance or whatever racist flavor of the month is, I'm sure he'll have space. If people like Ed Morrissey wants both him and his ideas to be taken seriously, then editorial control needs to be exercised, because racism may still sell, the returns are diminishing.
