This breaking news item from the Pope literally made my jaw drop...in a good way. That's something I'm not sure I've ever said about the Catholic Church before...unless I was viewing one of their awesome, historical Cathedrals.
According to the BBC:
"Speaking to reporters on a flight back from Brazil, he said: "If a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge him?"
The Pope's remarks are being seen as much more conciliatory than his predecessor's position on the issue...
...Five months after he took over from Pope Benedict, he said gay people should be fully accepted in society.
I know it's not perfect...I mean, what if a person is gay and not seeking God? Nevertheless, this is something I never thought I would hear coming from a Pope.
And he disapproves of lobbyists...all of them.
I must say, as Pope's go, I like this guy.
