The Wreck-List-Scavenger-Trivia-Rally: A Preview
We’ve had clam quests. We’ve had baby toon races. It’s time to liberalize the format of our all-guild competitions!
In late August, Wreck List will be holding a massive extracurricular online friendly competition (sidebar: if you can think of a cooler name for it I’m all ears. The acronym WLSTR is a bit of a mouthful). Everyone is welcome. No level restrictions on participants, but level 90 is recommended so you can travel anywhere without much trouble.
Time slot: 7:00p.m. – 11:00p.m. Saturday, most likely the 27th of August. Stay tuned for updates.
What’s it about?
- Lore (both WoW and Wreck List)
- Travelling to faraway places on Azeroth and Outland in record time
- Historical gameplay, class and raiding trivia
- Collecting obscure items
How does it work?
You form teams of three. Points are rewarded for all entries on the list, be it trivia, rallies or items. Feel free to consult all outside resources. Not that I could stop you anyway. The only thing strongly discouraged is collusion between teams.
But it’s unfair in favor of longstanding/more experienced members!
Not necessarily. Since the trivia may require knowledge that goes back a ways, there will be a multiplicative bonus for teams that comprise one Vanilla/BC vet, one Wrath Baby and one CataMist Noob. The trivia will have a balance of older and present-status WoW trivia.
But we can just copy all the trivia answers from WowHead or wherever!
Nah-uh. I thought of that. I’m not going to ask “what mob drops eternium scopes”. I’m going to ask things like “what’s the fastest way to get from Org to BWD without help?” or “what color dominates the décor of BoT?”
How is it judged?
Mostly by screenshots, although some points you can earn by sending in-game mail. Please make sure you’ve signed up at wrecklist.enjin.com so you can practice posting screenshots with date and time stamps.
Mages will be OP for the rally part!
Again, not necessarily. First, remember that each team has 3 members. Second, mages aren’t the only classes/professions who can zap across maps. Third, I’m not going to put rally points in the capital cities.
When do we sign up?
Any time before contest time, as soon as I talk to Tay about setting up a Forum for it.
Can non-WL members join?
As of now I don’t see why not, but I want Mama’s OK on this first. We need to make sure to keep it friendly and fun.
What’s the reward for winning?
Depending on the # of teams, we may have multiple prizes. We’re ensuring that they will be substantial.
Spread the word!
