Bryan Fischer spent a good part of Friday's edition of Focal Point doubling down on his ridiculous claim that Obama was photoshopped into the now-famous photo of the national security team being briefed in the Situation Room about the bin Laden raid. But believe it or not, that wasn't the most offensive part of Friday's show. Fischer claimed that Hillary Clinton proved she isn't qualified to be president because she had her hand over her mouth in the picture. No, I'm not kidding.
Fischer thinks that since Hillary had her hand over her mouth in shock, she's the last person you'd want to be on the receiving end of a 3 am call. He claims that Obama, Biden, Gates and the other men in the room were all composed and focused. Not the Secretary of State. "Hillary Clinton is freaked out by what she is seeing on the screen," Fischer says with a straight face. "Do we want her taking the 3 am phone call? I don't think so!"
We already knew that Fischer doesn't think much of the idea of a woman in the White House--for instance, he once said that a woman should only be president as a last resort. But this latest screed is incredibly sexist, even by his standards. Mean to tell me that presidents aren't supposed to be emotional or human?
Listening to this, I have to wonder how any women who heard or watched this reacted. Oh, that's right--in Fischer's world, a woman who stands up for herself is a "dragon lady.".
