Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary and visit the Guild web site to put in an application. More below the fold:
So we have an official date for the patch 5.4 drop. It was pretty much assumed that the patch would drop on August 27, but in an interview with the German gaming site Gamona, Tom Chilton gave September 10 as the date that 5.4 drops.
Be sure to read the patch notes. Here's the most recent patch notes, but expect them to change before 5.4 drops. I'm seeing actual Death Knight buffs. We live in mad times.
Here's an interview on WoW Insider with Tom Chilton where he goes into more about what changes we can expect in 5.4. He also says "if" there's a new expansion a lot, but I expect he's trolling.
And here's some suggestions for those, like me, who have or will have new 90-level alts that need geared up after 5.4 drops. Timeless Isle looks like today's Barrens on steroids.
REMINDER (courtesy of Dark):
If you want the Golden Lotus achievement "Eternally in the Vale" - do it now. It will not be available after 5.4 hits. Golden Lotus rep will be available in 5.4, but the dailies and quest giver locations will change.
Not saying why because spoilers. Just, get it done before September 10th.

ALSO SOMETHING ELSE THAT I FORGOT (which is getting to be a reoccurring feature):
Guild Farmer's Market Day Fridays! Plant a money crop - herbs, leather, ores, enchant mats or cloth - on Friday and send the harvest to Sulamaz on Saturday to sell for the guild bank! Easy socialism right there!

Well, at last this week, we have real progress to report! After being stuck a few nights on Iron Quon, and thinking at the time that the patch was going to drop on August 27th, bringing with a nerf of TOT and the loss of the achievement for beating the Thunder King pre nerf, Rubidium reluctantly agreed to use the lockout we had available on Senta to skip IQ for the moment and go straight to the Twin Consorts on Monday night. When Team Kaels first encountered these lovely ladies, they one shot them, but of course, we did not really think we could do the same. Well, I at least did not think so. But, in fact, this encounter is pretty much as easy as Xoff said it was going to be, and we also one shot it! Woot! We then went on to try our hand at Lei Shen, and had some very good pulls on him - got through the first intermission a couple of times, and I am hopeful we'll be able to bring him down before the patch, which now is not until September 10, so we have a couple more weeks to work on him. I'd like to go back and get IQ as well, but I think we want to kill the Thunder King first, before that nerf hits.
We are very pleased to have Lynera join us as a regular - we have really missed having a warlock in the raid, especially Corwynn who apparently gets the shakes if he doesn't have his lock cookies to hand. We are also very glad to have Buckdeekay as a regular backup - he will likely see a lot of raid time when football season starts and we lose Elu on most TV football nights. We will miss Elu dreadfully, but he will always have a spot on our team whenever the season ends or he gets too disgusted with his team to watch any more lol. And of course, Chanta on her hunter Zarjah has made our progress this summer possible and we are extremely grateful to her for going to the effort of getting that toon raid ready - we will be happy to have you come in whenever you want, and we will undoubtedly continue to need both Zarjah and Buckdeekay as the fall goes on (Mainartin has a strange affinity for football as well.)

And here's Pamena's Saturday Night Massacre report while we're at it:
This Saturday night, the guild continued our effort to finish up guild raid achievements from Cataclysm. We returned to Dragon Soul to tackle the last two fights on heroic 25 man, Spine and Madness, and we had 22 brave guildies in the groups, including most fortunately Kaels and Taymatt! The mechanic I was most worried about - dispelling the raid wiping debuff that hits right at the beginning of the Spine fight - was handled with ease by Kaels, and while the rest of the fight was not precisely cake, we handled it just fine. Then on to Madness, which actually seemed quite a bit easier to me, probably because our over geared firepower and hit points were better suited to zerging the various adds. At any rate, we got it done, and BOOM! lots of new Saviors of Azeroth around! It was a lot of fun, and I was so glad to see so many people join in who had never seen that raid before - very cool.
This Saturday I did not have anything on the calendar, as I thought the patch would be dropping on Tuesday and people might be wanting to catch up on various things individually. Since we now have 2 more weeks before the patch, I'll see if folks want to go kill world bosses and other things this week. Next Saturday (Aug 31) is Labor Day weekend, so I will not put anything on the calendar for that Saturday.

I remember having to put AMS up when Elementium Bolt hit or
die - and that was in LFR! Now I think a couple got past and I didn't notice.
Finally, a Team Z report from Moodyloner:
Turns out that three-healing the Ambershaper costs us too much DPS, and if any one of us (Moody) screws up or dies (Moody) then we can't get the monstrosity down at all. But when we went down to two heals and adjusted some things, suddenly we were consistently getting the monstrosity to thirty percent health or lower.
Next week. I don't hate this guy as much as I hate Garalon yet, but he's working on it.

That's all I have this week.
For the Horde!
