Tuesday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
Ok, we have a current diary schedule. If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.

If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.

Well,
here we are again,
another bigjac Tuesday.
I'm writing this
on Monday morning,
at about 5 AM.
Again.
Here's what I need to do today, Monday:
(again)
1. Get some sleep,
from about 6 AM to high noon.
2. Bing search
for how to remove and replace
the alternator
on our 2003 Mazda Tribute.
Let me back up.
The car went dead two weeks ago,
and the battery was replaced,
the alternator was tested,
and found to be no good,
the new alternator was purchased,
now I need to install it.
I tried to do it last week:
I loosened the bolts,
but they won't slide all the way out;
they hit the frame of the car!
Will I need to unbolt a motor mount,
and jack up the motor?
And,
how do I loosen the belt?
I went to auto mechanic vo-tech school,
and I got an "A,"
but that was a long time ago,
in the olden days,
before all the car engines were mounted sideways.
On my Mazda,
even after I removed the big plastic shroud
that covers the belt area,
I still could not see any slotted hole,
for any of the wheels the belt rides on,
so I can loosen the belt!
So,
I'll search the mighty internet
for the information I need.
If the internet fails me,
I'll take over the internet,
and fix it,
so things like that
will never happen again!
I also need to do a lot of laundry
My birthday dinner,
two weeks ago,
was great,
in case you missed it.
Tonia cooked our
big batch
of green beans
and yellow wax beans,
from our backyard garden.
Here's how she cooked the beans:
She cooked the smoked pork jowl
for 11 hours.
11 hours.
Then,
she added the beans,
and cooked the whole thing
another two hours.
The smell,
when I got home from work,
and dished up a big bowl,
the smell reminded me
of my grandma's cooking,
back in the sixties,
fifty years ago.
Green beans from the garden,
pork fat of some kind.
Truly one of the joys of life.
Hope you're doing well,
but even if not,
tell us about it.
We're here to listen.
