Another Democratic Senator is helping build Alison Lundergan Grimes (D. KY) grassroots campaign to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R. KY) next year. This time it's Senator Martin Heinirch (D. NM):
Why do we need Alison Lundergan Grimes, who is running against Senator Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, in the U.S. Senate?
Senate Republicans, led by Senator McConnell, have voted against the Violence Against Women Act, they’ve opposed equal pay for equal work, and they’ve supported plans that would slash Social Security and change Medicare as we know it.
I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to elect leaders that will work for the betterment of the American people, not to score political points. And that’s why I’m urging you to join me in supporting my friend Alison.
There’s no single way to make political gamesmanship a thing of the past, but we can start by electing leaders who are willing to work across party lines in order to put Americans first. That’s why I’m asking you to join me in supporting Alison’s campaign.
Together, we can retire Mitch McConnell. Click here to add your name to Alison’s petition now:

I ran for the U.S. Senate because I believe that New Mexicans, and people across our nation, deserve a Congress that works to deliver results. But the sad truth is gridlock and obstruction have brought progress to a halt time and time again. Republican Mitch McConnell is the chief architect of this dysfunctional Washington. In fact, McConnell has bragged about his 420 filibusters and called himself a proud “Guardian of Gridlock.”
As Alison says, if Senator McConnell had a kidney stone, he wouldn’t pass that either. We can’t afford to keep the Washington that Senator McConnell wants.
The polls show this race is neck-and-neck, but Alison needs our help to build a network of grassroots supporters that will stand up to McConnell’s partisan gamesmanship and elect a new class of leaders to the Senate.
