After using every possible means to further executive power the President finally woke up to his constitutional learnings and decided to ask Congress for authorization to act in Syria. This is probably the biggest moment in his Presidency and surely shows more deference for the constitution than any other Presidents in the last century. That he finally had the balls to do the right thing given how many times he's fucked up by pushing the envelope makes me happy. Make no mistake, this guy has been worse than all other predecessors at pushing executive privilege.
I've got his back on taking action in Syria. If we won't stand up to tyrants that gas their own people who will? And yeah, we are the most powerful nation in the world and with that comes some responsibility to ensure global norms. We have no right to ignore atrocities when actions on our part might prevent them in the future. Repercussions be damned.
