Inspired by ericlewis0's diary about the Baltimore Ravens supporting the ACA I wrote an email to my team, The 49er's. In hopes of getting a few more eyeballs I thought I would publish my quick little email with the goal of more us writing to our local NFL teams. Thanks for the consideration!
I've been a proud fan of the 49er's my whole life, not only of their performance on the field but also their contributions to the community. I am writing today to ask if the organization will help the community once again. Far too many people in our country are dying simply because they don't have access to quality health care. Countless others are going bankrupt due to illnesses. Although imperfect, the ACA (also known as Obamacare) goes a long way to remedy some of the ills in our health care system. One of the major hurdles currently facing the ACA law is a lack of public awareness about the law’s benefits and how to take advantage of the program. I'm asking you as a fan and as a concerned citizen to follow the example of the Baltimore Ravens, who will partner with the state of Maryland to educate the public on open enrollment for the health insurance marketplace. Please do the same here in California. I appreciate your consideration and hope that the 49er organization continues it's dedication to its fans and community.
A lifelong fan,
