It's Sunday!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
September has not been as busy as August. I begin to feel like myself again. (LOUD CHEERS AND GREAT REJOICING!!!)
Follow me over the orange decorative object for what little is going on with me ....
By the end of the month I will have the NN14 memberships paid. And my few remaining one-off bills paid.
The one advantage I can think of to cashing out vacation time - I have twice each year that I get paid for three weeks rather than two. And the second time happens this month. My boss wouldn't mind me taking the time off, and the Human Resources people would prefer it, but (as I believe I have said often enough to be boring on the subject) with the deadlines scattered around the year and me being his entire staff, it is difficult to find a week at a time that won't cause problems. I can manage two of them, but my vacation accumulates a lot faster than that.
I have no idea when we will be allowed to park in our parking lot again. It was supposed to be sealed and re-striped at the end of August - this was called because of rain. Then it was supposed to be last Wednesday. They got the sealing done, and then it rained. Rumor (what else to call weather reports?) has it that it will clear up and be warm for a week starting tomorrow. The stripes will probably get done in a few days. This would be nice, since I like being able to tell if my daughter is around by whether or not Squatty is in the lot.
My granddaughter has started second grade. In a couple of weeks, I will ask her how she likes it - she didn't much like school last year, but I suspect she will try to lie about it. My grandson will be 20 months old on Monday - he likes the world, and keeps trying to tell us how much. He is also gearing up for the terrible twos - with any luck, he will lose interest in that well before he turns three.
I do find myself concerned about the international mess, but expressing my opinion to my Rep and my senators is pretty much the most I can do about it personally, and I have been doing that.
I've been reading Noddy's posts on survivalism over the way. I like the way that woman thinks.
My sessions with the therapist I've been going to again are going well. We aren't done with the current problem, but much progress was made during my last appointment. I was able to dump some baggage I have been carrying for years. And am a lot happier for it.
What's going on with you?
