Once again going full Godwin Kerry repeats the idiocy of "This Is Our Munich Moment" but whilst actually standing in Europe this time. He could have added "are you scared yet" as Syrian tanks are lined up all along the Maginot Line...oh wait...
He also totally ignores that the US congress might have any say in this whatsoever.
He should have at least rented an open top Morgan supplied with a fluffy dog [I could have supplied one of our newfies] and entered to the music from the Dam-busters.
"This is not the time to be silent spectators to slaughter … this is not the time to allow a dictator unfettered use of some of the most heinous weapons on earth."
This does not sound like the rhetoric one would use for a series of limited strikes, this is the rhetoric you use to go to war, and by that I mean war in the traditional sense, like WWII, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Grenada, you know the ones that include invasions and full scale carnage.
"The president of the United States has made no decision. I will return to Washington and obviously this will be a point of discussion but we take that decision under advisement."
So congress is reduced to merely an advisory role, interesting.
In the rush to act we see that:
We have the new and improved "Munich Moment".
We have the new "Domino theory"
We have the new and improved "Going all Godwin".
Congress can be ignored.
The UN can be ignored.
That the administration has already made their decision.
I suppose my continuing refusal to support this type of pointless and authoritarian action will result in the same slurs used against people like me during the recent mindless escapades in Afghanistan and Iraq.
If you aren't with us you're with the enemy.
The hypocrisy is beginning to reek.
Punish the war criminals....oh wait....not if they are our own.
Rhetoric designed to ramp up the fear.
Lather rinse repeat.
.
.
We can also now safely assume that Kerry supports the Iraq war, because he is using Saddam Hussein a lot to justify this latest escapade
Before he was against it, for it, now for it with knobs on top.
We can also safely assume that since Kerry is the porte-parole of the administration and this is the second time this rhetoric has been used; that it is the rhetoric approved by the administration as a whole, i.e. President Obama.
