I just tried and failed to sign up at healthcare.gov. The following is a chat session with a helpful representative:
[10:52:39 pm]: DuShine
Hello, how may I help you?
[10:59:34 pm]: John
Whoop. Didn't see you in the chat window.
[11:00:00 pm]: John
Same problem everyone else is having probably.
[11:00:13 pm]: John
How do I get past the security question page?
[11:00:37 pm]: DuShine
I apologize for the inconvenience. The Health Insurance Marketplace will officially open at 8 am Eastern Standard Time to accept applications.
[11:01:21 pm]: John
Then pass on to IT that it needs to close the signup page until then.
[11:01:48 pm]: John
Lots of people are hitting it and getting a bad impression.
[11:02:16 pm]: DuShine
I do understand, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
[11:02:19 pm]: DuShine
Do you have any other questions that I can help you with?
[11:02:58 pm]: John
No thanks. I will post to DailyKos to sit back, have a beer, and wait until morning :-) Thanks again.
In summary, check back at 8 AM. Hopefully they will have the kinks worked out by then. I foresee much swearing and consumption of Monster energy drinks into the wee hours tonight.
Mon Sep 30, 2013 at 11:52 PM PT: I have gotten past the security questions and created an account. This required clearing out session cookies, because previous bad values "stuck" and wouldn't let me past.
I received a confirmation email, clicked the link, and attempted to log in. Login failed at the /marketplace/auth/userprofile page with an error code. I'll keep picking at it because I'm sick in the head that way.
12:04 AM PT: Haha - their properties file is obviously busted. That'll teach them to use java! I accepted the terms. Now I'm guessing what "???ffe.ee.myAccount.profile.LOALandingPage.exempt.description???" might mean.
