The #tcot crowd is dominating trending topics on Twitter to push their false narrative that President Obama and the ACA are to blame for the government shutdown. Let's take back Twitter and deny these mouth-breathers the forum.

The tea party Republicans are spreading lies and disinformation. Last night they were using #reidsshutdown. Now, they are pushing Gomhert's WWII memorial stunk to pin this on us. They are presenting the "bubble" as truth. It's been going on for months, and now has culminated in them controlling the dialog on Twitter. This is unacceptable, and we should fight back.

I suggest #radicalrepublicans.

A diary usually has more substance, but I am damn mad and need to share this.

It's time to shut down #tcot's organized campaign of deception.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

considering one doesn't know how Twitter "trends".

Depends on your feed, too, I guess. I've gotten the mouth-breathers and their fight-prone acolytes out of my purview, and have had many an enjoyable Twitter experience since  :)

This all started with "what the Republicans did to language".

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz just posted with that hashtag.  Instead of creating something new, we should jump onboard with what's out there.

  •  Regular people cant take back twitter (0+ / 0-)

or any place online or elsewhere else for that matter.  Astroturf, run by deep pocked Koch type funders rule the day

I haven't done twitter much yet but if it's like all the other websites out there, it's taken over and worked by paid corporatist astroturf  full time, probably one person with zillions of talking point right-wing accounts on any given comment topic, to enforce corporate propaganda

Regular people who work, like me, cannot compete with that

Very sad state of our democracy, if we still have one
