Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) defines treason as "...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]." In many nations, it is also often considered treason to attempt or conspire to overthrow the government, even if no foreign country is aiding or involved by such an endeavor.
Both houses of Congress voted to send the Affordable Care Act to the President.
The President of the United States signed the Affordable Care Act into law.
The law was upheld in the face of a legal challenge by the Supreme Court of the United States.
And now, a small group of members of Congress act to delay ???? of that law, attempt to prevent it from being funded, and shut the government down in an attempt to prevent its full implementation.
How is that not treasonous behavior?
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.
I would wager that our enemies would like nothing better than to see our government shut down. The GOP is aiding our enemy by their actions.
It's time to stop playing nice with the GOP--it's time to call them what they are.
