2 PM seems to be the right time to have these meetups. Another bar, this time in North Hollywood, a room JUST for us with a waitress just for us too, and the food was good, as was the company, although with occasions like these, no matter how good the food is, the company is better.

Taken by 714Day. Clockwise: Joe Bacon, (ducktape is obscured) jakedog42, Brecht, oteoelbc, chimere, susans, MugWumpBlues, joemarkowitz, and your diarist in his Kos Katalogue tshirt again.

More pics and food pr0n below.

The food pr0n first. It didn't move around while I was taking pictures of it.

The French Dip sandwich, before the waitress brought the au jus to dip it in.
Tuna crudo bruschetta.
There's a burger under that large leaf of lettuce.
The Citrus Caesar I had for lunch on my reconnoitering trip. 714day liked it just as much as I had.
Grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.

And the people. It's always as if we've known each other for a long time, even if two of the company were joining us for the first time. It wasn't the first time I had met one of the two, however.

Joe Bacon and ducktape,
714day and jakedog42,
Brecht and otoelbc,
chimere and susans,
and MugWumpBlues and joemarkowitz. Since SanFernandoValleyMom couldn't join us, she added this pictire of a dragonfly from her garden instead, with a note

Dragonfly 9.2013

So sorry to miss this afternoon! We missed you too!

Now, a question. The next likely date for a meetup will be October 19, mostly because I'll be in the Bay Area on the 12th, and again (with Shockwave this time) on the 25th. We're due to go back to Pasadena for this one. Should we just take October off? My schedule won't be any less crowded for this month if we do, so I vote we have it anyway.

Another wonderfully successful afternoon, and with interesting draft beer too!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
