This morning while skimming the headlines to discover what new nonsense had taken place in DC overnight, I suddenly thought about my Congressman.
I'm one of the lucky citizens who has a sane, serious, hardworking, responsible Congressman. He's George Miller from California.
From his website:
Congressman George Miller is the Senior Democrat on the House Education and Workforce Committee and a leading advocate in Congress on education, labor, the economy, and the environment. First elected in 1975, he now represents the newly created 11th District of California in the East Bay of San Francisco, including the majority of Contra Costa County. He is a life-long Democrat and Californian.
I've been voting for George Miller for a long time. He cares about his constituents and he cares about the country. Given how the crazies that have taken over not just our politics but also our government are getting all the attention, I think we need to call attention to those Congress members who are doing the job we sent them to DC to do. Let's give them the praise they deserve. For not holding the country hostage. For trying to govern in a sensible way. Quietly and without drama thinking about their constituents' needs and the nation's needs.
Thank you for all you do every day, Congressman Miller. I'm glad you're there.
