Erick Erickson has just posted an extremely angry diary over at RedState. As I read it I can feel the spit in my face as he explains in a livid fit of rage how the Republican leadership is abandoning the conservative cause and caving into Obama.
I know you don't like to go there, but it is well worth it. Be sure to get out the popcorn before you start reading the comments. You won't be able to get out of your chair to go pop a batch - it's that good.
Obviously, Erickson knows something that is not in the mainstream media as of yet. This is a pattern that has emerged over the last week or so. Whenever a signal has gone out that Boehner is thinking about compromising or something, Erickson has written a piece decrying the subterfuge. The pieces have been threatening, but civil. Subtlety has been present, but the message has been clear: Compromise with Obama and we will blow up the ship. This one is another story, however. This is the one wherein he is lighting the fuse.
There is still a chance that Boehner will again try to walk it back. If he does, you can be sure that Erickson will also calm it down immediately, perhaps even pulling this article from the front page. This one is a bell-weather. As long as it is up, to the best of Erickson's knowledge, the GOP is going to cave in.
Here's just one comment. Someone here must have gotten an account over there today.
Here's another:
My goodness: Don't use Republican Leadership as pig feed, because it would poison the hogs.
