When I think back on my own discography, there's a ton of truly strange and odd stuff that spans the timeline of my own music sphere. Earlier today, I was reminded of:
Tune-age. That's what weird songstuff is all about. It could be argued that Dr. Demento was one of the prime purveyors of wonderfully insane crap like this:
But then, there are always those who feel like weird stuff is defined by Weird Al. This is almost sacrilegious in retrospect, however:
Why do I want to listen to a lot of David Grohl right now? Foo's or Nirvana. Doesn't matter. I didn't appreciate the latter in their time. The former are high on my playlist.
This week, I really realized (for reasons that shall remained unexplained) that I'm becoming a geezer, both technologically and artistically. But, to paraphrase the late Justice Potter Stewart, I know good music when I hear it or see it.
