Maybe 1,000 showed up for the photo op.  The marchers knocked down the barriers of the World War II memorial and at the White House.  I wonder if there will be any arrests?

The REAL Vet march will be on Tuesday:  Veterans groups to push to end government shutdown

Washington (CNN) – A military coalition including 33 of the nation’s leading veterans and uniformed services organizations on Tuesday will stage a major event in Washington to push for an end to the government shutdown.

Some of the major groups that will be represented include: The American Legion, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Air Force Sergeants Association, National Military Family Association and Jewish War Veterans.

Of course, the Teapublicans have to upstage a true march with this petty, all white gathering.

Here's the Million Vet March Facebook page link.  You will find pics of small gatherings all over the country.  I still did not see one person that is not white in any of the pictures reviewed.  Amazingly homogeneous!

'Million Vet March' converges on D.C.

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Thousands of protesters with the "Million Vet March" arrived at the World War II Memorial Sunday morning to protest the closure of the memorials during the federal government shutdown.

The protesters removed the barriers and entered the memorial, which has been closed since the shutdown began Oct. 1.

Million Vet March UPDATE: Thousands Remove Barricades At WWII Memorial; Palin, Cruz, Others Lead “Tear Down These Walls” Chants

Palin & Cruz Protesting Cruz's Shutdown.  Quislings!

Senators Mike Lee - Utah and Ted Cruz - Texas as well as Sarah Palin were among the crowd that chanted “Tear down these walls” and sang patriotic songs according to local news coverage from WTOP, as the barriers were removed.

It has been reported by CNN that some of the protestors have made their way to the White House where they threw barricades aside and got into some pushing and shoving with the police on duty.

Sometimes I have to wonder if the DRAMA is planned in advance of Congress actions.

Here is a picture rich report:

Million Vet March Storms National Mall; 'Barrycades' Fall, Ted Cruz Speaks!

Other than Cruz, this looks like an all-caucasion gathering looking for a fight.

Fox and Friends already covering the Million Vet March, begins at :36

(is the man with the white beard real or a cardboard cutout....?)

Lastly, this from Jonathan Turly blog

Exposé: Ted Cruz, Dominionism and Jesus

Ted has been brainwashed by his fanatical father his entire life.  See the vid where Raphael Cruz began telling Ted he was an annointed one from the age of 4.

It Can Happen Here.  Ted Cruz could be Buzz Windrop! A terrifying prospect.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
