I see the Daily Caller is well on its way to World Net Daily-land. First it was the election-eve "scoop" that Sen. Bob Menendez had been visiting Dominican prostitutes, a story that fell apart when it was learned that the women accusing him of that had been paid to accuse him of that. Now they're out with a new election-eve "scoop" that says Newark Mayor Cory Booker
doesn't really live in New Jersey at all!
Multiple residents of Newark told The Daily Caller that the longtime mayor doesn’t live at any of the addresses he has claimed as home. The mayor is believed to live in New York even though he is registered to run for New Jersey’s special senate election.
And by "believed to live in New York," the author means he met an anti-Booker activist who said she "believed" that, sans evidence.
There's a few rather glaring problems with the story. First, Booker's opening of his home to Hurricane Sandy victims was just a wee bit all over the news, and none of his neighbors, residents who took him up on the offer or reporters managed to suss out that it wasn't his house? That's a bit difficult to believe. Second, people who did actual reporting found plenty of evidence that he did—though he moved to a different Newark home several weeks ago, which might be confusing to conservative reporters who lack object permanence. And third, the "scoop" that Booker probably maybe secretly lives somewhere else like I-dunno-New-York? comes from "independent filmmaker" Joel Gilbert, who you may have heard of from his last project:
I can help you out with that -- Gilbert directed Dreams From My Real Father, a 2012 documentary that asserts Barack Obama is really the illegitimate son of Frank Marshall Davis, a communist poet who knew the future president's family. (Both that film and the Booker tapes are products of Gilbert's Highway 61 Entertainment.)
In Dreams From My Real Father, Gilbert stitched together photos of Davis and Obama in similar poses, photos that were allegedly of a young, S&M-modeling Ann Dunham (they weren't), and a narration from an Obama impersonator who copped to the sordid truth.
So the Daily Caller is running a story brought to them by a professional conspiracy theorist on break from battling Barack Obama's lizard people.
Spectacular. Forget what I said about them being on their way to World Net Daily-land, it looks like they already arrived, put up a comfortable cot, and taped a few Bat Boy posters to the walls.
That hasn't stopped the Republican in the race, Steve Lonegan, from promoting the theory himself, presumably to demonstrate that being conservative still means freely flitting between whatever alternate realities smell nicest that day. And Fox Business host Stuart Varney, who is I believe network vice president for class warfare and lizard people promotion, put his tongue right on that frozen pole because that is what he does. We are left, then, to ponder how we got to the point where fake news from known freaking liars became the standard way of doing business for certain "news" outlets, and just what "scoop" the Daily Caller will bring us next. (Psst—I hear Lyndon LaRouche has some huge news about Queen Elizabeth. Huge.)
