Why are the Democrats still allowing the Moron Coalition ‘er’ the Republicans to set the terms of the debate about paying for things like Medicare, Social Security, and every other program that makes living in the USA worth a shit. In fact we have A'holes like Dick Durbin spouting the austerity line about saving these programs by engineering cuts in them. Say What!? That’s exactly like saying “We had to destroy that village in order to Save it.” It was nonsense in 1968 and it is still nonsense today.

Hey Bigshot Dems, stop acting like you are ashamed of the record of programs that your predecessors created to allow little people to enjoy a tiny (infinitesimal) modicum of security and relief in this world of sharks and operators. Since Ronnie Raygun all you guys act like you have something to be guilty about.

Just STOP It! It was worth paying for these programs in the 1930’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and the 70’s. They are still worth the price today. Here is a novel idea; since Trickle Down Economics is such a bankrupt and fallacious political philosophy maybe all the other shit that has come out of the Cloaca that is the Rightwing Propaganda Machine is just a bunch of lies and worse too. Maybe, just maybe, some of you could call Bullshit Bullshit.

Next time you are tempted to say something stupid about cutting social programs to save them sit down, take a deep breath then say this to the Moron Coalition ‘er’ the Republicans instead…”I’m sorry but you have been completely, totally, comprehensively and demonstrably wrong for forty years about the basic facts you have tried to foist on the people of this country and it is time you are held accountable for your lack of decency, humanity, and love for the least amongst us. It is time that you and your billionaire benefactors come down out of the clouds of abdominal gas you have been living in and help us make this country truly become THE LAST BEST HOPE FOR MANKIND. Since you never tire of telling us how you love this country and are motivated by the highest Christian ideals you must agree with us Democrats that those who have gained the most by the short sighted and practically criminal tax policies of the last 4 DECADES must step up and actually start helping pay for these programs. Let’s repeat this so there are no misunderstandings…PAY FOR THESE PROGRAMS.”

Granted, if you do this, you probably won’t get a chance to have breakfast with Mika on Morning Joe and David Gregory may act all huffy about your lack of respect for bogus ideas but what the hell some poor retired person with health problems may be able to make it through another day to play with his/her grandkids or maybe a mom will be able to send her kids to school with food in their stomachs. You decide what is more important.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
