This is a follow-up on last night's health care rant, but much shorter. As background, three things triggered this.
First, a facebook friend (female) went nuts that ACA requires health care premiums to be the same for males and females. She said any woman who would take a policy that charged her more than males deserved it because she was stupid.
Second, was watching the Sibelius hearing where a GOP Congresswoman went off about single men having to pay for pregnancy.
Third, my better half, Sheila commented, "Time for men to man up!"
I agree. Time for men to man up a speak out against this talking point. Wingers are trying to use #6 to deny Americans the first five:
1. Companies cannot denying health insurance because you got bummer genes or your spouse beat you.
2. Companies cannot cancel your insurance when you got sick.
3. Companies must let your insurance cover your kids until age 26.
4. There are no limits on annual and lifetime coverage.
5. Companies cannot sell you crap insurance that really ends up covering nothing.
6. You cannot charge women more than men for health insurance.
It is that last one a few are hoping they can get young males upset enough to rally support to topple the other five. Their argument is that single men are paying for pregnancy, birth control, and vaginal probes. Thus women should have to pay more because they are the ones who get pregnant.
It is true, only women get pregnant. But it is equally true that women don’t get pregnant without a man. Granted, we males don’t get pregnant but we need to “Man Up” and pay our fair share.
