Good evening and welcome to DK Quilt Guild Gift Quilt-A-Thon and stay at home sewing and quilting retreat weekend.  It is time for sewers and quilters to get busy making Christmas gifts or other holiday gifts using fabric on hand that we have been hoarding.  I have spent time hunting for patterns that will be a delight to make, give or treat ourselves with.  Please join us as we get started with out projects.  If there is a project that you are working on, we would love to hear about it or post a picture.  So go make yourself a cup of coffee or tea and come back and join in because I am your host for the day.

Traditionally quilt guilds have retreats where members get together to sew and take classes.  Usually it is at a local hotel or resort and the members stay over night to enjoy a short vacation from home with friends who share the same interest.  Since we are an internet guild we are scattered all over, the makes it impossible to have a retreat or meet up.  So we well be sewing all week end at home and commenting here about all things quilty and hand made gifts. I also invite everyone to post their favorite Cookie Recipe for our cookie exchange.  Don't be shy and keep checking back because I have videos, free patterns and gift ideas planned for the whole week end.

Please take time to look at all the Quilty and Sewing ideas in Part 1.  There are lots and lots of projects and fun things to sew and quilt.  Also we would love to have your favorite cookie recipe for our recipe exchange.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
