Received this e-mail today from congressional candidate and Iraq & Afghanistan war veteran Kevin Strouse (D. PA-08) who is running against Tea Party Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R. PA-08) next year:
Yesterday, the Senate passed the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) in hopes of finishing the 17-year fight to end workplace discrimination against LGBT employees. This is fantastic progress.
But now is when things get tough. Speaker Boehner has vowed to halt any progress on this historic legislation. He’s not only refusing to bring ENDA to a vote, he believes the bill would lead to “frivolous litigation.”
There is absolutely nothing frivolous about protecting more than 4 million LGBT Americans from workplace discrimination.
Freedom from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity is something every single American is entitled to. Boehner has crossed the line -- and we have to fight back.

This has been a huge year for LGBT rights. But as Boehner’s attitude demonstrates, we still have a long way to go.
Workplace discrimination is unacceptable. Let’s end this now:

We can’t let this go on for one more day. Thanks for stepping up.
