More below the fold:
At this point, all we know about the next expansion, Warlords of Draenor, is what Blizzard released at Blizzcon and rampant speculation. The rampant speculation bit, at least the part about the release date, was fueled by everyone's favorite crab Ghostcrawler "letting slip" that he felt they are farther along with Warlords than they were with Mists after it's Blizzcon announcement.
Personally, I think Ninotchka has a point. On the forums, Nina points out that Wildstar and EQ Next, both titles that have apparently been touted as "WoW-killers" are due to release next year. Blizzard enjoys their status as an 800-pound gorilla, and will likely time info dumps and the Warlords release to squash one or both of these.
Wildstar has said that they intend to drop right after the next WoW expansion goes live.
This should be interesting.
Here's Tvath with the Saturday Night Massacre report:
Saturday Night Massacre:
Pamena couldn't be with us as she usually is, so several of us rounded up a group and tackled Firelands. For some it was a first experience, and many achievements were achieved! Some of the druids picked up fire-kitty seeds as well. Thanks especially to experienced folks like Snuffy and Carune who expertly guided newcomers through the fights -- even at 90 some of them are not a piece of cake!

Here's the Team Kaels report from Ninotchka:
Team Kaels has had a great week so far. Since I last wrote to you, we killed Thok the Bloodthirsty (with everyone but the DK lying dead on the floor, and he proceeded to wander into the fire to look at what the corpse dropped. OOPS!)
We proceeded to Siegecrafter Blackfuse. I just could not get the tanking timing on that fight down for what felt to me like the longest time. Either I forgot to use a cooldown when I needed one, or I ran completely out of cooldowns when I needed them. It was frustrating. Finally, we had a clean pull and I lived to the end. YAY!
I was on a high, in a rush. 12 bosses down! Oh goody, what’s next? ……..the Paragons of the Klaaxi.
This fight.
I had not seen a single video guide that took less than 25 minutes to explain this fight. There are 9 bosses, you encounter 3 at a time, each one has different abilities. And they’re bugs.
But we took a few looks at the fight last night and it’s actually not that bad. We got to 6/9 dead in our last pull, and we all started dying because, I think, none of us had read that far and we started getting confused on what to do. If we can manage a full deck I think this one can be a win soon. And that means (shudder) on to Garrosh!
In our flex raid, we have also progressed to Blackfuse. Unfortunately, this means we have gotten to the point where we need a little more coordination and damage throughput. I’ve been urged by several people to start putting an item level minimum on the raid. I don’t like to do that because I’ve seen quite a few people who can put up spectacular numbers with minimal gear, and if you’re having a bad connection day most people will put up dismal numbers with very good gear. I would prefer to work with people to bring numbers up rather than excluding people because their numbers are low. I do plan to start asking everyone to be gemmed and enchanted when they join in, and I’m thinking about setting up mentoring programs if anyone is willing to participate and wouldn’t be insulted.
In the end, the flex raid worked on Blackfuse for 45 minutes and wasn't getting any further than 60%, so we went and cleared the first wing in record time and got an acheesement on the third boss. Next week we're going back to Blackfuse, though. That bombling pet will be mine some day.
Oh, also next week I'll be switching from vent to mumble for the flex raid. Mumble is accessible from the 'voice chat' tab on our guild website, and Tay put up a helpful thread talking about how to set up your computer to use it. I find it clearer than vent, and it has the added bonus of pronouncing people's character names hilariously.

Here's Pamena with the Team RubiPam report:
Team RubiPam report:
Not much to report this week as our field general Rubidium is on vacation with the lovely Dr/Mrs Rubi. We did try to get General Nazgrim down last Thursday while Rubi was still with us, but despite several agonizingly close wipes (I think if you get him under 1% that should just be it, for gosh sakes!) we didn't get the job done. This week, we are doing farming runs - Buckdeekay came in as a sub on Monday night for a farming night on normal - we successfully two healed Immersius and Protectors, but were having big problems two healing Norushen. So Buck switched to his shammy healer, and we 3 healed it and got him - our damage dealing has really picked up since the first times we did the fight, so we handily beat the enrage time. Tonight, Thursday, we may go back in on normal to do the Sha, or we might try a flex, that is to be determined.
I wasn't here Saturday night - had a last minute request to help out a friend Saturday night, but I understand Tvath and others went achievement hunting in Firelands and much fun was had.

And finally Tvath again with the Team Z report:
Team Z:
A two-boss night is always a good one! Durumu the big eyeball fell down after several tries and many deaths. I scored a personal victory by making it through the maze twice! Then we went on to Primordius the big red lizard. Here I must confess that while we were clearing the trash I accidentally pulled the boss. Normally we'd just wipe and reset, but we started in on the fight for practice. Which turned out not to be needed because we killed it! On to Dark Animus! Special thanks to Lynera and Tonyharrison for substituting with us.

That's all I have this week.
For the Horde!
