This will be short and sweet. I've written about my daughter Ellie before. She is 13, autistic, and a pretty great artist. Her entry into a self-portrait challenge at Laika Studios, the very greatest animation studio out there, has been accepted. Voting continues until November 22.
Ellie is the cutie with Goofy. Top row, second from the left. She took this photo with our Mac, there was no one there with her. I only found it later and was so moved by this "emotionless" autistic girl cradling Goofy with such caring and gentleness.

LAIKA Studios Self-Portrait Challenge
We very much hope that Ellie will someday be able to support herself with her creative endeavors, so every bit of exposure for her helps. It also doesn't hurt that Laika's specialty is stop motion animation, which also happens to be Ellie's specialty. You can check the link on my DKos home page to see more of Ellie's work. Her latest animation is on there, it's pretty awesome.
So, yes, I am trolling for likes, nothing more, nothing less.
I hope that if this is seen as unseemly by the community, I'll be given a small amount of forgiveness as a an active member of this community in good standing.
Thank you and Go Stanford!
Hat tip to LiliithGardener for asking how those without a Facebook account could support Ellie. She does put out an annual wall calendar featuring her work with clay.
Here's the link for those who are interested. Even if you're not up to buying a calendar, just clicking on the link can help her to get exposure!

Thank you, thank you. And Ellie thanks you, or she would if she cared about any of this. All she really cares about is making more art, which is why I do what I do.
4:28 PM PT: Hey! Ellie made the recommended list, for about 30 seconds. Hooray!
