Let me start by saying I am employed and pay for health insurance through my employer, so I don't need to enroll in the exchanges. However, I am in I.T., and I wanted to see how healthcare.gov worked. I tried to use the site on the first day, and I couldn't. It did not work. Now it does. So, I signed up and took some screen shots of my journey...
A few things to note. I'm in Pennsylvania. I did not ask for a subsidy. During the process of signing up your identity is verified the same as it is when asking to view a credit report online. This means you have to correctly select your previous addresses and/or bank loans.
After creating a user name and password, and answering a few non-invasive questions I received my eligibility status in a downloadable file.
I then continued the enrollment process...

The PA site is very comprehensive. You have to take your time. The site makes it very clear that if you choose a cheaper plan, and then get sick you will pay more. I know Obamacare does not solve all health insurance problems or problems with healthcare, but it's a damn good start.
