So the latest inane taking point from obstructionist Republican senators regarding their blockade of President Obama's nominees to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals goes like this: each of the three judges would cost $1 million.
Someone needs to whisper in
Dr. Evil's Sen. Grassley's ear that that dollar figure ain't gonna cut it, especially after the Republican shutdown cost the economy billions of dollars.
But I digress. Gail Collins lowered the boom in today's column:
Three-million dollars is indeed a lot of money. But it's way less than the $50 million Senator Grassley once tried to get for an indoor rainforest near Des Moines.
That's gonna leave a mark. A tasty mark, but I hope it stings. Echoing the last sentence of the column, I say, "Change the rules!"
