Hello again, Kossacks.
This is my first diary in almost four years. I apologize for the lengthy sabbatical. Since we last had a chance to discuss issues of import, I've bought and remodeled a delapidated house, started a family, got married, changed employment twice, marshalled all available resources to President Obama's re-election, and grew several impressive beards. I now find myself in a place where I can once again contribute to this awesome community.
Before I post diaries regarding issues, actions, and tactics, I want to give a brief synopsis of where I am and why its been so long since being here. Hopefully this will keep future posts on topic.
Recently, I've been asked to reassumed the role of Team Leader of the Madison Isthmus Neighborhood Team (MINT), our local affiliate of Organizing For Action. I held this role during the 2012 election. Our group's chair since then has recently started a unique business (A Place To Be) and my new career as homemaker has afforded me the opportunity to accept this role with vigor.
I'm eager to share what our team does on national issues like the ACA and gun violence. I also want to speak to things happening in the Dairy State, and things going on at the neighborhood level.
Thanks. It feels good to click Publish again.
