Hi again beer lovers, and happy Friday! Come on in and share a cold one, and some holiday weekend beer discussion.
I'll start with a comment posted last week by reader kaliedescope
Just had a bottle of Stone Brewing Company's "Enjoy by 12-13-13" double IPA. In the running for the best beer I've ever drunk. The Cascade hops are more redolent of pine, than I've ever tasted -- a dry conifer flavor
I got a pint of this last weekend and will say it might be the
hoppiest beer I've ever tasted. The piney aroma is huge - I'm reminded of Euell Gibbons. "Ever drink a pine tree?" An extreme beer for the hoppiest of hopheads.
My favorite beer announcement from Beerpulse: a Chicago brewery called Pipeworks released a "Big Lebowski" themed ale called "Hey, Careful Man, There's a Beverage Here". It's labeled as a "white Russian imperial milk stout", inspired by the Dude's favorite cocktail. Calling a beer described as "light in color" a stout blows the style guidelines out of the water, but if it tastes good, brew it.
I need to go buy beer. Maybe I can hold out until dinner time, depending on when the friend I'm supposed to have dinner with shows up. What are you drinking? What did you drink with your holiday feast yesterday?
