Sorry to double dip and post 2 diaries in short order, but this deserved it's own special diary. For the second time in a few months an aide for Scott Walker has been fired for racist statements on social media. The first aide fired for racism a few months ago was Steven Krieser, Walkers assistant deputy secretary at the state Department of Transportation.
For any who worry about damage to Walkers reputation, be reassured. This news has been relegated to abide only on a newspapers online blog. If it was a Democrat, this would appear on the front page above the fold.
In one, Palmisano, 23, complained about an individual who was doing custodial work in a library in which she was working.
"I will choke that illegal mex cleaning in the library. Stop banging (expletive) chairs around and turn off your Walkman," she posted on March 9, 2011.
Two months earlier, she went to Twitter to write about her bus trip from Pasadena, Calif., to Las Vegas after watching the Wisconsin Badgers play in the Rose Bowl: "This bus is my worst (expletive) nightmare Nobody speaks English & these ppl dont know how 2 control their kids #only3morehours #illegalaliens."
Palmisano's ouster comes even as she was lampooned by a variety media outlets for her bizarre fundraising appeal in which she encouraged parents to give to Walker's campaign fund instead of buying Christmas toys for their children.
Yes, she's the author of the now infamous (only on liberal sites and NOT in our local or state media) for suggesting parents donate to Scott Walkers campaign instead of buying gifts for their children. Oh, the insanity!
In August, Walker removed Steven Krieser as his assistant deputy secretary at the state Department of Transportation after the Journal Sentinel contacted his office about Krieser's Facebook posts likening illegal immigrants to Satan in an extended rant.
On Tuesday, a Walker campaign spokesman distanced the governor from his former aide's tweets just hours after being alerted to them.
"Taylor Palmisano has been immediately removed from her position with the Friends of Scott Walker campaign," said spokesman Jonathan Wetzel. "Both the Governor, and the campaign, condemn these insulting remarks which do not reflect our views in any way."
Palmisano also issued a statement saying she understands why she was asked to leave the campaign. She was named deputy finance director in July after a six-month stint as a finance intern, according to her profile on LinkedIn.
Imagine that. Racism among Walkers supporters and aides....
Naturally the social media sources have been shut down, but the linked blog post has
More to come. This is breaking right now.
UPDATE:
No other news site has a thing on this and it's still relegated in the Journal Sentinel online blog.
I'm unable to come up with a reason they waited 2 years to fire this woman. Scribeboy in the comments has the same feeling that I do that this may have more to do with the pounding the campaign is taking over her fundraising Send Donations Instead of Giving Your Kids Gifts email than racist tweets that are over 2 years old.
I'll keep looking.

Have some LOLs on this over at Cog Dis.
