I don't understand what's the big deal about Maxey Scherr or any of the Democratic Candidates. Republicans own this state and I'm consistently conservative.
Seems like the U.S. Senate race in Texas is already going on and campaigns are underway.
Maxey Scherr, one of the Democratic Candidates who just earlier this week launched a kickoff event launching her Senate campaign, is organizing a campaign rally this Monday at the Texas State Capital in Austin, TX.

It's premature at this point to predict who will win the Democratic nomination in the U.S. Senate race in Texas but Maxey Scherr certainly seems to have a good marketing team in place to do her ads.
This first ad out from the Scherr for Senate campaign is a great way to start off her campaign. In my view, it's very witty and shows Texas Democrats like Scherr are fired up for change. It appears Wendy Davis's candidacy for Governor has really ignited a new energy for Texas Democrats.

Maxey Scherr, an El Paso attorney and winner of the Democratic primary, has just released her first political ad of the campaign, and it’s very progressive and hard-hitting.
“Texas is on Cruz control. Ted Cruz is the epitome of everything that’s wrong with Washington, and John Cornyn is along for the ride. He’s on autopilot, voting the way Ted Cruz wants him to. John Cornyn is stuck on Cruz control, and I won’t be,” she says.
Turning the “Cruz control” insult into a visual metaphor, the ad focuses on a black Ford Edge SUV with a bright red “Cruz control” bumper sticker, “CRUZ CTRL” vanity plate, and large photos of both Senators on the rear.
“If Texas stays on Cruz control, we’re headed for a wreck,” Scherr says in the ad.
Although Scherr's website doesn't show yet where she stands on the issues, in the campaign ad it does reveal what she's for:
Raising Minimum Wage to $10/hour
Fixing and improving Obamacare, not letting the insurance industry have their way
Increasing support for public school system
Marriage Equality
And the line Scherr says in her ad is great from a message standpoint in terms of women's issues: "When it comes to these issues, Cruz Control is Government Control, not individual rights.
