I wrote a few diaries about gun violence, and how Sandy Hook would not in any way change America or its gun laws..
Of course, I wanted to be wrong, but... I wasn't.
Go back and read this; it's short:

Now compare that to this:
Support For Tougher Gun Laws Fades, Poll Finds
WASHINGTON -- Support for stronger gun laws has dropped from highs in the weeks after last year's elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., even though other mass shootings have kept guns in the news...
According to the latest poll, 49 percent of Americans now want generally stricter gun laws, while 22 percent say they should be less strict and 23 percent want no change.
So... in the end, I was - sadly - right.
Gun control - the only thing that will make any difference - is off the table in America; in fact it was never on the table, was it?
America has LONG been a place where thousands of kids are shot dead every year... and it will long continue to be such a place.
