The
far-right victim culture is really a thing to behold. Not only do tea party Republicans see themselves as victims because they aren't allowed to run the world and get their way on every single thing, but now they're being—wait for it—
criticized by also far-right House Speaker John Boehner. And that is, well:
"What these leaders are doing to conservatives is no different from what the IRS got caught doing to them this summer," Senate Conservatives Fund executive director Matt Hoskins wrote in the email sent to supporters on Monday. "They're using their power to discriminate against people they see as a political threat."
Discrimination!
As is so often the case with these guys, I am not sure that word means what he thinks it means. Aside from the fact that the IRS outrage turned out to be manufactured, it's just not discrimination to say a group is "misleading their followers" and has "lost all credibility," particularly when those things are true.
But I'm sure it's a great tactic for fundraising from the followers who are so eager to be misled.
