I have always been a strong supporter of single payor/Medicare for all, and understand that votes weren't there for it (but still believe it was a huge failure to at least not raise it and use it as a bargaining chip to bring the discussion and final product leftward). But now that some of the shortcomings of the ACA are becoming known, and as some of these problems appear likely to significantly affect Americans in the 50+ age range, and there seems to be some impetus to tweak the program, it seems now may be a very appropriate time to insert into the discussion a legitimate fix through the expansion of Medicare to allow buy-in by Americans 50 and older.
