Their coverage sucks
I apologize for the brevity of this diary, but NPR is really starting to get on my nerves and I wanted to vent.
I listened to NPR yesterday on the drive home from work between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. They had not a word on the Christie Bridge Scandal, which broke that morning. Admittedly, I did not listen to them earlier in the day or later in the evening, so I can't say they totally ignored it yesterday. I was eager to listen to their coverage today.
Well, they did cover the story on "All Things Considered" at 5:00 today. Of course they mentioned the long press coverage and Christie's "apology". And who did they interview afterword? GOP strategist and long-time Christie booster Mike Murphy, who, of course, said Christie is doing just "fine".
Very disappointing. This is a serious scandal, not a game. Christie's staff have been implicated in outrageous, possibly, illegal activity. NPR doesn't seem to get that.
I sent NPR an email expressing my disappointment with the coverage so far.
