And vote for the winner of Saturday's Literary Game!
Welcome back to another bookish brain teaser and to the VOTE diary for yesterday's contest. Today's game is a variant on the one you played yesterday. It was suggested by nicteis, who commented:
A variant: Come up with a triplet, name the authors in sequence, and challenge other players to come up with the linked titles.
That's exactly what we'll do.
Please turn the page.
Here's an example of nicteis' variation to get you started. I'll use one of the series I came up with yesterday, only adapt it to the new game for purposes of illustration.
Suppose the three authors are:
Tom Spanbauer
W. Somerset Maugham
Paul Collins
I would list them in exactly the order that the titles occur so that the second title begins with the last word in the first and the third title begins with the last word in the second.
Your job is to figure out what books by the authors, when put in the correct order, produce that result.
Now this is a much harder game than yesterday's and I think that this time Google will be allowed in assisting you to both produce a puzzle and to answer one. After all, who's heard of Paul Collins and what's the likelihood that you even know the relatively unknown book by him that I have in mind? I think it's also fair to provide hint labels after the authors' names such as. . .
Tom Spanbauer (long title)
W, Somerset Maugham (think currency)
Paul Collins (nonfiction)
That should be enough to get you started. Play on!
Now for the VOTE to determine a winner of yesterday's game. Here's a list of those who submitted triplets. I hope I haven't left anyone out! If I have inadvertently overlooked you, please post a comment saying so, and I'll update this diary and the following list.

Consult the link, http://www.dailykos.com/... review the triplets, make your choice and click on the name in the poll below. Then, I'll determine the winner. That person will be eligible for a bookish prize from me.
Later, I'll publish a follow-up diary to this one, giving you a chance to vote on the winner of today's Literary Game. Let's call it Triple Author Links. The winner of that contest will also be eligible to receive a bookish prize from me.
That's it. All you have to do is PLAY today and VOTE today and we can all have fun.
BTW, did anyone get ideas of titles to add to their TBR piles from yesterday's game?
Other than that, nothing's happening.
