It's time again to request volunteers for the weekly D'var Torah.  If you haven't tried one before, why not give it a try?  None of us - I think - are experts.  Anyway, here's the schedule for the next month or so.

Wednesday night, January 15th:  Tu'Beshevat (New Year for Trees) Navy Vet Terp

Shabbat January 18th:  Yitro.  Torah reading Exodus chapters 18 to 20 (including the Ten Commandments); Haftarah Isaiah 6:1 to 7:6 and 9:5-6.  awesumtenor

Shabbat January 25th:  Mishpatim.  Torah reading Exodus chapters 21 to 24.  Haftarah Jeremiah 34: 8-22 and 33: 25-26.

Shabbat February 1st:  Terumah and Rosh Hodesh (1st day of the month) Adar.  Torah readings Exodus chapter 25 to 27:19 and for Rosh Hodesh Numbers 28: 9-15.  Special Haftarah for Rosh Hodesh Isaiah chapter 66 (line 23 repeated to end on a happy note.) Ramara

Shabbat February 8th:  Tetsaveh.  Torah Reading Exodus 27:20 to 30:10.  Haftarah Ezekiel 43: 10-27.

Shabbat February 15th:  Ki Tissa.  Torah reading Exodus 30:11 to 34:35 (including the story of the golden calf).  Haftarah 1 Kings 18: 1-39.  JLan

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.
