"I'm talking to you. Not me."
We have a new definition for
chutzpah:
The feud between Gov. Chris Christie and Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop kicked into higher gear today, with a Christie spokesman accusing the mayor of engaging in “partisan politics.”
Fulop's crime? Releasing
public documents that bolster his claim that he was the victim of a political vendetta after refusing to endorse Chris Christie for reelection last year. Sounds
familiar, doesn't it?
Who is Steve Fulop?
Fulop's name appears in the documents released last week showing that there was a political motivation to the Fort Lee lane closures. David Wildstein, the Christie appointee tasked with carrying out the lane closures, was asked by Kelly whether or not Baroni had called the Fort Lee mayor about the lane closures. His response: "Radio silence His name comes right after mayor Fulop."
And now Christie's office says:
“Mayor Fulop’s words and actions must be viewed through the lens of partisan politics and his attempt to advance his own personal agenda ... he has made clear his future political aspirations.”
Well, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle a contender in the 2016 presidential race.
