Health-care-for-all is a right, not a reserved privilege for those most fortunate. Below are 2 entries about a real-life American living in a Republican-controlled red state governed by a callous governor who refuses to expand Medicaid.

Damn you, Republicans and especially cruel and heartless Governor Jindal of Louisiana. What in the hell do you care about Americans who are suffering? After all, you and your family have the health care they need.
One of our sons, struggling financially as a law school student with a wife and baby, is in ER waiting to be admitted. An infectious disease specialist is being called in. Meningitis? Super-bug? 5 years ago he had insurance when he needed necessary surgery and the $15,000 share of the cost is still being paid monthly by the hardest. He is below the poverty line and cannot qualify for ACA, Medicaid or anything else, despite repeated attempts.
What is wrong with this country if it cannot prioritize to implement universal affordable health care? The millionaire’s club, called Congress, screeches about ACA yet won’t work to find something even better. This is criminal and vile.
“In Louisiana, 242,000 uninsured adults (28% of the uninsured in the state) who would have been eligible for Medicaid if the state expanded fall into the coverage gap. These adults are all below the poverty line and thus have very limited incomes. Because they do not gain an affordable coverage option under the ACA, they are most likely to remain uninsured.” (Kaiser, 2014)
Damn you, Jindal, and all the other narcissistic, soulless scum-buckets who put profit over people in health care, education and prisons.

This weekend I ranted against LA’s soulless Gov Jindal for not expanding Medicaid and being primarily responsible, therefore, for our son’s plight. Robby is an uninsured Law School student who falls in the gap. He toughed out debilitating symptoms for weeks until ER was needed. Admitted initially for viral meningitis plus a bacterial infection, he had the works—nausea and dry heaves, horrific headache, throat like razors, unbreakable high fever. After 3 days of treatment, he was discharged with 3 prescriptions. Although much improved, he is still fighting headache, nausea, fever and sore throat. He needs maintenance and follow-up NOW but again no insurance and no doc. He was forced to resign from Law School today and the limited income brought in by his wife watching babies in-home has been interrupted due to his continued symptoms. The real pity is that he is only one of over 242,00 other Louisianians that Jindal is screwing. So pardon me while I vent with some well-deserved names for Jingle-Bell Jerk Jindal. I promise to avoid those considered obscene or dealing with religion, body orifices and excrement like dung, turd or dingleberry. And I certainly cannot malign creatures like asses, weasels, weevils, cockroaches or swine. So here is a partial list. And after Steve Scalise’s votes against bills to help flood insurance customers and against veterans and against health care and against equal pay for women, etc. etc. etc.—all below apply as strenuously to him.
