This is for those who've literally been there and done that in our military. It addresses the invisible wounds many of us will bear for the rest of our lives. Please note: Trigger warning in place.
INVISIBILITY
See me,
as I stand
here
before you.
Alone,
bewildered,
seeking,
the wisdom of time.
Searching,
the flashing colors
for truths' answer
for fools.
Seeking,
life's realities.
Living,
in fantasies.
Trying
to reach heaven.
Staying
here in hell.
Pleading
to understand anothers' emotions,
Denying
My own.
HOMEFRONT
Did not!
Did too!
You know it was easier when....
Who the Hell areyou?
What happened?
No don't!
You don't talk to me...
Did too!
Did NOT!
NIGHT TERRORS
The night never seems to end and,
In my dreams, time must bend.
To go back to once was
Not to face what is.
Nightmares grasp and claw,
Tormenting me
With what I saw.
Pain,
forever, never ending, on and on
Me
a single, simple pawn.
Writhing
in sweat soaked sheets til dawn.
If I'm lucky
