Received this e-mail from Shenna Bellows (D. ME) today who needs our help putting pressure on her opponent, Senator Susan Collins (R. ME), to vote to raise the minimum wage:
Last night, President Obama made the case for giving millions of Americans a raise – including 96,000 hard-working Mainers.
I support the growing movement to raise the minimum wage above $10. Next week, I’ll deliver a petition to Senator Collins challenging her to join me in standing with workers.

There’s a growing gap between the rich and the rest of us. As worker productivity rises, we’ve seen wages stay the same and CEO bonuses go up.
Raising the minimum wage would create jobs by rewarding people properly for their work and allowing them to spend more in our economy. This is “middle-out economics,” not the failed “trickle-down economics” of the past.
Senator Collins has a choice: Does she stand with hard-working families in Maine who need a raise? Or does she stand with corporate CEOs who want millions in bonuses?
Sign the petition to Senator Collins here. We’ll deliver it next week and invite the media to come along:

Please also forward this to your friends. The more signatures we have, the more likely the media will cover our fight on this issue.
Together we can make a difference,
Shenna
