Darrell Issa was on Bill Maher's panel last night, and right near the beginning was an interesting little exchange that not many people may have noticed. Bill was talking about the SOTU address and said President Obama's line about minimum wage "Give America a raise" was a good line, right? Looking to Issa to see if he could, at the very least, admit that was a catchy phrase. From memory, here was Issa's response..."Look, no one wants to lower wages but..." I had to rewind the teevee to see if I really heard what I thought I heard.
So Bill Maher is talking about the president talking about raising the minimum wage, asks Issa if, at the very least, that's a good political line, and Issa talks about lowering wages. Freudian? I think so... Because of course they'd like to eliminate the minimum wage altogether, not raise it.
