Monday! Late at night, and I am tired...
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
Ok, we have a current diary schedule. If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
Monday: BadKitties
Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac
Wednesday: Caedy
Thursday: weck
Friday: FloridaSNMOM
Saturday:broths
Sunday: loggersbrat
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
Good evening, good morning, dear fellow IANites. This diary is late because the Broncos lost, as I suspected they would, and because i am arguing with a Libertarian on Twitter. And have been, for DAYS. She is not very good at math and must have failed biology, because she keeps insisting that I am 15, when I have told her three times that I have a 9-year-old. And I finally mentioned that I have a 13-year-old, too. But no matter. On to the important stuff.
SAME-SEX MARRIAGE DETERMINED THE SUPER BOWL WINNER, AGAIN! For the THIRD year in a row, the state that legalized same-sex marriage WON THE SUPER BOWL!!
Okay, it could be coincidence. Personally, I agree with Carl Jung. It's synchronicity. It's cause and effect. Three YEARS IN A ROW. New York, Maryland, and now Washington. Colorado, due to an amendment banning same-sex marriage in 2006, was only able to legalize civil unions (after a huge fight and revolting shenanigans) by kicking out several GOPers and getting a Dem majority. Civil unions, both legally and Super-Bowly, do not pack the same punch.
There is also, of course, the fact that Bruno Mars apparently spent more time on the field than Peyton Manning.
And that the "real" Broncos were apparently MIA. But at least it wasn't a shutout.
There is no joy in Mudville, or Broncos Nation, tonight. And I, personally, blame the right-wing religious freakazoids that pushed and passed the stupid amendment in the first place. It needs to be repealed.
I know this isn't supposed to be political. I was originally planning to write about Bigfoot. Seriously. But we watched the game, we had a friend over, and then I got sucked into Twitter....
Hope that everyone has a great day!!
Sun Feb 02, 2014 at 11:10 PM PT: Okay, there is a boo-boo in this diary. I am not a sports fan. Will fix tomorrow. Zzzz.
h/t to BobBlueMass for pointing out error.
