I have had a number of direct inquiries as to whether something was wrong, as I have been writing so infrequently.

Nothing is wrong, either with me or with my wife Leaves on the Current.

I have been very busy with school-related tasks, as one semester has ended and a new one has begun, with my getting almost 60 new students.

I am trying to honor some previous commitments for writing, especially of book reviews.

I have been in discussion about a guest speaking opportunity at a major graduate school of education

There are political things happening in my neck of the woods - I live in Jim Moran's Congressional District, and we may have as many as 11 Democrats competing to replace him - I know most, have made up my mind whom to support, and will be writing about that, but I was already doing some volunteering on behalf of my favored candidate

On several occasions I have had to devote the better part of a day to helping a dear friend

I continue to try to get healthy by doing yoga as well as changing my diet.  I attend classes 4 or more times per week, and do some practice on my own.  That will not change, and may somewhat limit my future participation here:  it is unlikely that during tthe school week you will see me post 4 times in one day!

I continue to read.

While I have seen things that under different circumstances I might have taken the time to blog, in the immediate past I had more important priorities.

And unless someone in the government decides to haul me away, you can ignore the "YET" in my title - I have no intention of going anywhere.

This site does fine without my posting every day.

I am honored to be a member of the community.

I am grateful for the concern of those who not seeing me active chose to discreetly inquire.

I hope this allays any fears or concerns.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
