I think this is ridiculus. More ridiculus if I missed reading any earlier diary with respect to my ridiculus feeling about this boxing match in the making between George Zimmerman and DMX -- whoever he is.
I mean seriously folks, who in his right mind would want to reopen the wounds of the Trayvon Martin`s family by even thinking of promoting such a controversial spectacle? I also think that DMX, bless his heart -- only wants to be the one Black dude to kick the Zim`s fat ass. And don`t get me wrong, trust me, it will be ridiculus if I miss following this event.
E!! News confirmed George Zimmerman will face off against rapper DMX in the ring for a Celebrity Boxing Match next month as Floyd Mayweather Sr. referees. The thought of going head-to-head in the ring was actually Zimmerman's idea, telling Radar Online last month that boxing is his hobby.
Once celebs caught wind of the event, a number of them volunteered to go against Zimmerman, who stood trial for second-degree murder and manslaughter for shooting Trayvon Martin but was acquitted.
I think that for once, I have to agree totally with the Rev. Al Sharpton on his take in this bit of news:
Although you may already be itching to see the brawl, not everyone is supporting the idea of these two throwing punches. Rev. Al Sharpton reportedly told a Los Angeles group Wednesday that he was concerned "about the precedent that it sets."
"We must be very careful not to glorify or in any way sidestep the implications of making someone whose only claim to fame was killing an unarmed young man named Trayvon Martin into a cultural celebrity or hero," Sharpton said.
I could not have said it better Rev.
Opps, had to edit: Leave your gun at home dude!!
