The "Christian because they like to hate" crowd are fond of quoting Leviticus on homosexuality. (Note that there is no mentions of lesbians, but whatever)
A frequent rejoinder is to invoke similar sanctions that are to be applied for things like the eating of shellfish to point out the absurdity of such a position.
The h8ers will respond with Matthew 15:10-11:
10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand:
11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
This seems to be a pretty direct challenge to the dietary sections of Leviticus.
It states that what enters a mans mouth is irrelevant to ones virtue, or lack thereof, but it is what comes out determines the quality of their character.
But....Doesn't that also invalidate the injunctions against gay sex as well?
If what goes into a man's mouth (and it's mostly males referenced in biblical laws) does not matter, then being gay, or engaging in same sex snugglebunnies is similarly irrelevant.
I'm just saying.
