Quilt top for The Packhorse and irishwitch
Last week, we learned that hopeful was just diagnosed with breast cancer. This type of news is life changing, something out of the blue, and it is not at all strange that hopeful has been rocked. Anyone would be. She is in the process of scheduling surgery -- so what better time to start the process of a community quilt for her? Lets put our arms around her and let her know that we are supporting her each step of the way as she heals from this. Lets make a blanket full of loving words that she can take with her to treatment, taking our support with her.
Quilt made for a woman with breast cancer -- we delivered it to her as she was receiving chemo
What is a community quilt? It is a quilt containing messages from you, written in the comments hereto, transcribed by me in archival ink on muslin. Combines with colorful fabrics, the written words provide immeasurable comfort. Hopeful will be able to rest under her quilt, cry into it if necessary, and smile at the love in your words. It will be a support in a tough time and a pleasure to her when the battle is won.

It takes time and material to make one of these quilts and it is a living for me and my sister. If you would like to donate toward the cost of hopeful's quilt, here is a PayPal link - or message me for an address if you prefer a check. $15/message is suggested but some kindly give more to cover for those who cannot afford to donate but who have lovely messages to give. Your message is welcome whether you can give or not.
